While we ate, I gave the older girl, Ashley, a get-well card, since she broke her foot last Saturday, playing Soccer. She’s getting around on a scooter, crutches when needed. Her brother wrote “ANDY” on the bottom of her cast. XD
(For those that don’t get it, this is what Woody had on the underside of his foot in “Toy Story”. Zack can be such a card sometimes. XD)
Speaking of cards, her get-well card is Mickey Mouse, saying “Ouch” while holding his foot. Inside, it says, “I hope you’re back on your feet soon.” We all agreed it was just the thing.
Anyway, while we were on our way, Melissa told me the rest of the Kittens’ adoption story.
On Saturday, when Ashley had her accident (she told me she tripped, backing into a small hole in the field), they took the box around. Only one kitten, Little Turtle Two, was adopted. I figured that it was just the one, because people were there to play or watch friends/family play, not adopt a kitten.
Ironic, by the way, since the last Little Turtle “left” us first, when she was involved in an accident and had to be put down. I was so sad, since she was my favorite back then.)
Later (What was it again? The same day, I think), the boys were all adopted.
First boy to go was Patches. Then Joey. In fact, I think Patches and Joey went together. Later, Melissa got a text saying the two little girls who received them just love them! ^_^ It's nice that two of them got to stay together, like my Danny and Sammy ...
Then, the last of all was Bootsie, the ginger with the white feet that was so affectionate to me. (I think that little guy was trying to adopt ME. XD)
It was interesting that the lady that came for him came all the way from Los Angeles – and this is the City of Ontario – so, yeah, she came a long way. A least a couple hour drive.
I’m glad I had a hand in helping make all this happen. I’m glad those four little sweeties have good homes and people that love them as much as I do.I am amazed when the two kittens, starting to play, draw Danny into it by pawing his face. Instead of hissing and pulling away … or … hissing and smacking Joey, Danny just puts up with it. And even starts to groom the two of them!
My big territorial Alpha male, a big daddy-marshmallow! He, like, did a totally turn-around, regarding these babies.
While I marvel at this, Bootsie gets involved, climbing over me to curl up on my shoulder, so that my ear was mashed against his little body. His purring was thunderous! XD
Little Turtle didn’t get involved. I look over to Kitten Castle, the two habitats that stand side-by-side, and I see she’s curled up in the Mail-Box shaped compartment, busily sawing wood. X)
I wanted to get a picture, using my portable mini-reading lamp as a stage-light, but I went to the bathroom first, and by the time I was done, everyone had jumped down and was waiting for me in the kitchen to serve breakfast.
I’m pretty hungry myself. Soon as I post this, I’m gonna go and get something. A piece of that Pumpkin Cake sounds good right now …
